I am currently a private-pay, out-of-network provider.
While I don't accept insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost

Here are steps to determine if you have coverage:
Call your insurance company. Their member services number should be on the back of your card.
Ask if you have “out of network” benefits for mental health care. They may ask, “outpatient or inpatient?” Our work is considered outpatient care.
Find out if you have a deductible that must be met before coverage kicks in. If so, ask them how much you need to pay before your insurance begins to reimburse you for out-of-pocket fees.
Ask how much your plan will reimburse you. Ask the representative, “What is the maximum allowed amount for mental health service code 90837 with a therapist, and what percentage of the maximum allowed amount will my plan pay?” This percentage of the maximum allowed amount is the amount you would receive as reimbursement.

You'll come into the office and grab a coffee or tea while you wait for me to come get you from the waiting room. Once in the office, we will review what brought you to therapy and talk a bit about your life story. You'll have time to ask questions and we'll review next steps from there.

In everyone's least favorite answer - it depends. Most people report some improvements in in 3-4 months.
Some people find shorter term therapy (a few months) is enough to address their concerns, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy (several months to years) for more complex or ongoing challenges.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia, holding a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). My training includes specialized work in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which I completed through the EMDR Center for Excellence under the guidance of Deany Laliotis, a renowned expert in trauma therapy. I am currently in consultation with Jennifer Fights, LCMHC, a senior trainer at the EMDR Center for Excellence, as I work toward EMDRIA certification, the gold standard for EMDR therapists. In addition to EMDR, I incorporate psychodynamic and relational approaches, which focus on understanding how past experiences shape current behaviors and relationships. This diverse training allows me to offer a comprehensive, personalized approach to your healing process.Item description
